Children in the Union - Rights and Empowerment
CURE
CURE is a project on children as crime victims in the criminal justice systems of the European Union, children who have become victims of all sorts of crimes
CURE is run by the Crime Victim Compensation and Support Authority in Sweden in co-operation with its partners in nine Member States, and is co-funded by the Prevention of and Fight against Crime-programme (ISEC) of the European Commission, Directorate-General Justice, Freedom and Security.
CURE has the objective to improve the position of child victims when confronting professionals and the legal procedure.
CURE, as the name suggests, has a rights-centred approach but it will also raise awareness on best practices aimed to protect the child victim from experiencing hardship within the criminal justice system. To this end, information on the situation of the child victim in the EU member states will be gathered and recommendations directed to the European Commission and the Member States of the European Union will be developed.
Responsible for the implementation of the CURE project are Mrs Anna Wergens and Ms Anna Sigfridsson. You are most welcome to contact us!
The CURE e-mail address is: cure@childvictims.se
